In the town of Glen Cove, near where I live, a Greek diner changed its name to "7 Mares". For years, I would notice the place and wonder why a restaurant specializing in seafood would have a name meaning "seven female horses".
Finally, I remembered that in Greek "mare" is "ocean". It's "Seven Seas". And I feel like an idiot.
